On May 28, 2004, Chuck resigned from Esperantomobilo because he plans to eventually open an Esperanto center in Boston as a part of the chain of commercial Esperanto centers that are starting around the world. However, he does not regret this decision as is shown in his private letter to project participants:

I thank you all for your participation in the Esperantomobilo project. The dream was beautiful, the work was professional, but however the money did not come. I should have already known that when you want to help Esperanto, you not only need the energy, but also the money. This is unfortunate, but such is life.

I (and hopefully also the team) however learned a lot from the project. I learned how volunteers work and about how much Esperanto speakers generally [don't] donate. I am not alone in this experience. However, I'm glad I started the project because otherwise I would have no idea of its result. I also say that it's better to try than not to try at all.

La 28-an de majo, 2004, Chuck rezignis de Esperantomobilo ĉar li planas eventuale starigi E-centron en Bostono kiel parton de la ĉeno de komercaj E-centroj kiuj komenciĝas en la mondo. Tamen li ne bedaŭris tiun decidon kiu montriĝis en sia privata rezigna letero al la projektpartoprenintoj:

Mi dankas al vi ĉiuj pro via partopreno en la projekto de Esperantomobilo. La revo estis bela, la laboro estis profesia, sed tamen la mono mankis. Mi devintus jam scii antaŭe ke kiam oni volas aktivi en Esperantio, ne nur bezonatas la energio, sed ankaŭ la mono. Tio estas bedaŭrinda, sed tiel estas la vivo.

Mi (kaj espereble ankaŭ la teamo) tamen lernis multege de la projekto. Mi lernis kiel volontuloj laboras kaj pri la (ne)donacemo de esperantistoj. Mi ne estas sola kun tiaj spertoj. Tamen, mi ĝojas ke mi iniciatis la projekton, ĉar alikaze mi tute ne scius kiel rezultintus. Mi ĉiam diras ke pli bonas provi fari kaj malsukcesi ol nenion fari.

new program / nova programo

After Chuck attended a language festival in Volgograd, Russia, the team decided that we could be much more effective as well as being more interesting to the general public if we change our program. Now, instead of resting for one week in each city, we'll stay for two weeks and visit half the cities that we had planned. Here is the new program:

Tue evening = arrival
Wed afternoon = press conference
Wed-Fri = prepare for language festival
Sat-Sun = language festival

Mon-Fri = lectures in the city
Thu evening = informational session about Esperanto
Fri evening-Sun evening = intensive Esperanto course
Mon evening = practice session in Esperanto
Tue morning = departure

Post kiam Chuck ĉeestis lingvan festivalon en Volgogrado, Rusio, la teamo decidis ke ni povus esti multe pli efikaj kaj interesaj al la ĝenerala publiko se ni ŝanĝus nian programon. Nun, anstataŭ restante dum unu semajno en ĉiu urbo, ni restos dum du semajnoj kaj vizitos duonon el la urboj kiujn ni planis. Jen la nova programo:

merkrede-vendrede = preparo por la lingva festivalo

Groningen club gives support! / Groningen-klubo subtenas!

This Saturday, December 13, the participants of the Zamenhof Day fest in Groningen (Netherlands) supported our project morally and financially through their donations of 67 EUR ($83 USD). I want to thank the Groningen Esperanto club for the opportunity to lecture about Esperantomobilo and their support. They also had the pleasure of seeing the new design of our website, which was done by noktulo. Thanks also to him for his great work for our project!

Ĉi-sabate, la 13-an de decembro, la ĉeestantoj de la Zamenhoftago en Groningen (Nederlando) subtenis nian projekton morale kaj finance per iliaj donacoj de 67 EUR ($83 USD). We are the Esperanto speakers who say "Ni!"

We are a team of six Esperanto speakers from the United States (amuzulo, elinjo, Loren) and Russia (Diana, Libera, Oleg) who decided to buy the Esperantomobilo and travel through the American continent teaching Esperanto. You can also read about our adventures starting in June 2004.

During our trip, we hope to be in the national news and also be interviewed by different radio and television stations. However, we need your help. If you live in the USA or Canada and could provide a place for Esperanto courses, invite us! We will come to energize the Esperanto movement in your region. We plan to start in Boston and then travel through Canada and the USA. If you cannot help us locally, maybe you could donate to us. If you have a website, you could also link to us from your site to http://www.esperantomobilo.org/. We look forward to working with you.

Ni estas teamo de ses esperantistoj el Usono (amuzulo, elinjo, Loren) kaj Rusio (Diana, Libera, Oleg), kiuj decidis aĉeti la Esperantomobilon kaj vojaĝi tra Ameriko instruante Esperanton. Vi ankaŭ povas legi pri niaj aventuroj komence de junio 2004.
